Yvon Clouard

Export Sales Engineer, responsible for Asian markets

Yvon’s career path with the company is specific in that he joined Verlinde in 2008 with the engineering and design office as electrical engineer. His knowledge of Verlinde products and standards was already very extensive. 2012 saw him appointed to Technical Support with a more externally-focused role.

My function

The technical solutions he proposes for customers involve breakdown clearance, diagnostics or matters concerning assembly but also on an internal basis with on-site representatives, inside sales staff, warranty and after-sales personnel. As a result, his field of technical expertise considerably widens the Verlinde offering. Yvon Clouard especially appreciates the diversity of challenges to be resolved in all areas including Verlinde products and the diversity of his contacts.
Finally, July 2018 marked his promotion to his present function of Export Sales Engineer, responsible for boosting sales in Asian markets. His new position in the company has given him the opportunity of widening still more the offering of recommendations and technical solutions sought by his clientele. He is convinced that the creation by a good sales engineer of value added lies in their ability to find the right match between proposed products and customers’ challenges.
His track record includes his studies and a period of work in the UK and he puts to good use his mastery of technical English on a daily basis.

My hobby

Yvon Clouard is a motorcycle racing enthusiast, a sport he has practiced as an amateur since he was 16. He was into motocross when he lived in the UK and regularly took part in races. Then came endurance and long-distance rallies in North Africa.
The period culminated with a lone long-distance rally in West Africa in 2007. 6 months preparation, 10 months of making do on his own, 8 countries crossed and 35,000 km run. Yvon says that he equally enjoyed the run itself and the technical and logistical preparation of his bike. He brings back from this adventure memories of incredible experiences, like his unexpected and frightening encounter in Mali with a troop of a hundred or so baboons. And obviously memories of superb landscapes. Today, he regularly practices dirt biking, mountain biking and swimming.
